BMW R 1200 GS is taking shape gradually


The BMW R 1200 GS motorcycle from BMW Motorrad has been hugely popular and a top selling bike, particularly favored for adventure touring. News encircling the market these days is indicating that the bike manufacturer is preparing itself for providing a major upgrading to this bike. However, there is a long way to be traversed for this new variant to come in with its expected launch being in 2013.
The new variant of the BMW R 1200 GS is expected to come with a more contemporary styling with greater aggression provided to its looks. It is also being made subject to other major cosmetic changes. Modernization of equipments is expected and a changed wind deflector, which will now be adjustable, is a major alteration on this new model. Fans of this bike will appreciate the increase in features provided along with its new seat, which will be bi-colored.

One significant new change that is being incorporated is that the BMW R 1200 GS is shedding its present air-cooled engine. It is instead opting for the latest Boxer twin liquid-cooled engine. The driveshaft is switching ends from its present variant, and is now going to be mounted on the motorcycle’s left side. There have been no disclosures on the capacity of the new engine. However, cylinder-intake ports of this new bike are coming in from the top. Exhaust pipes of the bike will also take a new route.

The latest BMW R 1200 GS, the on and off road bike, is expected to be provided with electronic functions to assist riding, which would see the suspension being controlled electronically. The latest feature of anti-lock braking system is going to be provided with its front brake calipers being radial mounted. These are expected to enhance the safety features of this bike.
